The most famous of local natives, Johann Josef Kittel had St. Joseph`s Church built almost solely at his own expense between 1756 and 1760.
The church was originally consecrated to St. Lawrence. After the patronage was passed to Count Desfours, it was consecrated to Francis de Paula.
